A source says that neither Rita Ora nor Taika Waititi wanted to do anything flashy and preferred to keep it simple.
Good news comes from singer and actress Rita Ora, who is engaged to Taika Waititi. Waititi is no stranger to Marvel fans, with his work as director of "Thor: Love and Thunder".
The Sun reports that the "For You" singer and "Jojo Rabbit" star made their marriage proposals almost at the same time as each other, and are now planning a simple ceremony soon ahead of holding a star-studded celebration later this summer.
A source told the publication that the two didn't seem to want to do anything flashy. The most important thing is love between the two and decide the right time to proceed to a more serious level.
"It's not about them doing a big flashy thing and talking about it beforehand," the source said. "It's just about them falling in love and deciding the right time to make their relationship official."
Ora and the director of "Thor: Ragnarok" first sparked romance rumors in the spring of 2021 when they were photographed making out in Sydney. They seemed to confirm their romance when they were caught kissing on the balcony. However, the photo was later questioned and made headlines as actress Tessa Thompson was also involved in the kiss.
"I think in the world of the internet, everything disappears quickly," the Oscar-winning director told the Sydney Morning Herald months after the kiss went viral. "And also, 'Is that a big deal?' No, not really. I didn't do anything wrong. It doesn't matter."
Then later in August 2021, the couple went on to make their red carpet debut at the premiere of "The Suicide Squad". Meanwhile, Waititi himself has two children with his now separated wife, Chelsea Winstanley. (wk/zodi)
