Two beautiful celebrities who have twin names Kylie Jenner and kylie Minogue are known to have clashed. The feud between Jenner and Minogue occurred in 2017.
Minogue was even willing to take legal action to settle his case with Jenner. It started after Jenner wanted to use the name Kylie as her business label.
Jenner then registered the KYLIE name as a trademark with the appropriate authorities. Minogue then finds out Jenner's intentions. Minogue did not accept it because he felt that he first used the Kylie name for his trademark.
It is known, Minogue has indeed used the name Kylie as a label for her beauty business, recording and other businesses. He even has the official website kylie.com.
Because of that, Minogue didn't want Jenner to use Kylie's name as her trademark. Minogue fears the similarity of the brand names will cause consumer confusion and risk damaging his business reputation.
Due to Minogue's lawsuit, the US Patent and Trademark Office rejected Jenner's request to name her business Kylie. In other words, Minogue won the case.
Interestingly, Minogue recently commented on the case after previously choosing to remain silent. Kylie admitted that she was uncomfortable having the same name as a woman younger than her.
"When I was named Kylie, I thought I met one person who was older than me named Kylie. So it was a bit unusual," Minogue said in a Watch What Happen Live interview with Andy Cohen.
Minogue revealed his lawsuit to Jenner purely because of business matters. According to Minogue, she has been trying hard to build her business under the Kylie name for a long time. Thus, it is important for Minogue to maintain its business existence.
"I've spent my whole life protecting my brand and building my brand, so it was just something that had to be done."
However, Minogue insists that his issues with Jenner have been resolved. An agreement has been made and Minogue is satisfied with the court's decision.
"Let me also say that we have reached an agreement," Minogue said. "The good news is, it's all over, we don't have to go to court. It's all over."
Even though they have been at odds, Minogue believes, he and the Kardashian Jenner family will meet and talk together someday. "I'm sure I'll meet them (the Kardashians) one day," he concluded. (wk/Side)
