Anupam Kher recounted his struggles to pursue a career as a professional actor with Mahima Chaudhry. The upload is a form of support for Mahima who is fighting breast cancer.
Kher shared a video in which he is seen asking Mahima questions about treatment and how he is feeling at the moment.
Launching The Indian EXPRESS, Thursday (9/6/2022), Mahima shaved his head as part of chemotherapy. Uniquely, Mahima admitted that he had received many offers to play in films since he lost his hair.
“Surprisingly, since I lost my hair I've been getting a lot of calls for shows and web series. And I was like, 'Oh my God, why now? I don't even have hair. I don't know, I feel like I'm getting very emotional right now,” she said, crying for the camera.
Mahima admitted that he was surprised by the breast cancer he had. He did not feel any symptoms before being diagnosed with cancer.
"I don't have any symptoms, it's just an annual checkup. I finished my routine test and the person doing the test said I should go and have it checked again. They say you should have chemotherapy. That's when I started crying. And my sister reassured me by saying 'it's treatable. why are you acting like a 17th century woman?' That's why I didn't tell my parents," he said.
Towards the end of the video, Anupam Kher praises Mahima for being able to face cancer with a steadfast heart.
“I feel very good. I always cried and cried, until I met the little boy who gave me strength, who said; 'You only have this much medicine, I've been given more'. And I'm completely recovered," Mahima said.
Anupam Kher has shared the video and it has received an overwhelming response from the entire Indian film community. /celebrities.id
