Interestingly, Jamie finally revealed why he took the surrogate method to have children. Jamie admitted, she was reluctant to feel pregnant like a mother in general.
Through an interview with Today, Jamie admitted that he was afraid of getting pregnant. The 39-year-old actress is worried that her career will fall due to pregnancy.
According to Jamie, the world of Hollywood demands actresses and actors who look perfect. Jamie believes his absence on TV for a few months will make his name quickly forgotten. Meanwhile, Jamie realizes that he will have to take a few years off due to pregnancy and childbirth.
"I was afraid to put my life on hold for two more years," Jamie said. "In my industry, it feels like you're easily forgotten if you don't work within the next month of your last job. Things go so fast in what we do."
However, Jamie realized that as a mother she felt guilty for choosing not to give birth to her child through her womb. He was also ashamed of his decision. However, Jamie and her husband hope that the public will not judge her too much.
"I think there's a bit of shame. It's still not a common thing and we're not ready to be judged yet," said Jamie. "People might think, 'Oh, she's such a waste. She doesn't want to get pregnant,' and it's a lot more complicated than that."
Jamie said he didn't want to get caught up in the ridicule of social media. He didn't want his good chance and happiness to be ruined just like that.
"For me, personally, and I'm going to stop here, it's like, I worked hard my whole life to get to where I am now." "I don't want to miss opportunities. I don't want to be upset."
