Justin Bieber comments on the nine-year sentence imposed by the Russian government on American WNBA athlete Brittney Griner. Justin is even willing to offer legal aid to Brittney.

The Woman's National Basketball Association (WNBA) female basketball athlete, Brittney Griner, has been found guilty by a Russian court of marijuana possession. As a result, Brittney was sentenced to nine years in prison after being caught smuggling marijuana.

The case began after Brittney was arrested by the police at Sheremetyevo airport, Moscow, Russia in February 2022. He was arrested after he found a vape cartridge which was claimed to contain marijuana oil in his suitcase.

For the incident, Brittney also regretted and apologized to all parties that she had harmed and disappointed. "I want to apologize to my team-mates, my club, my fans and the city (Yekaterinburg) for the mistakes I made and the shame I caused them," Brittney said at the hearing.

The 31-year-old also apologized to his family and WNBA teammates. Not to mention Brittney's lover, Cherelle, who was so shocked by the news of the arrest.

"I also want to apologize to my parents, my siblings, the Phoenix Mercury organization at home, the amazing WNBA women and my wonderful partner back home," Brittney said.

Following the verdict, Hollywood celebrities flocked to support Brittney. They questioned Russia's unreasonable sentence and asked the United States government to immediately release Brittney.

Even the famous musician Justin Bieber openly offered to help Brittney. Hailey Baldwin's husband was sad to see the verdict handed down on Brittney.

Through his Instagram page, Justin said he was willing to help Brittney to solve her legal case. "This hurts. If anyone knows I can help, let me know," Justin wrote.

On the other hand, the President of the United States, Joe Biden, even spoke about Russia's decision to punish Brittney. He called on the Russian government to release its citizens as soon as possible.

"Today, American citizen Brittney Griner received a prison sentence that is yet another reminder of what the world already knows: Russia wrongfully detained Brittney," Biden said. "That is unacceptable, and I call on Russia to release him immediately so he can be with his wife, loved ones, friends and team-mates." (wk/Sisi)
