Singer Ne-Yo's household and his wife, Crystal Smith, are on the verge of breaking up. Reportedly, Crystal officially filed for divorce from Ne-Yo. The lawsuit emerged after their second marriage was rumored to be cracked because of a third person.
Crystal accused her husband of having an affair with her. Even the affair is claimed to have been going on for years. Now, Crystal can no longer afford and decides to end her six-year marriage with Ne-Yo.
TMZ reports Crystal has filed for divorce in Atlanta since last week. Crystal also listed the date of their separation. Written on July 22, 2022, the couple separated.
In court documents, Crystal said that their domestic problems were beyond repair. He also refused to reconcile or mediate with Ne-Yo. It's even more surprising because Crystal accuses Ne-Yo of secretly having children with other women.
Crystal revealed that he had been the one who had been taking care of their three children after the two separated. Therefore, Crystal demanded custody of the child to fall into his hands.
Regarding his wife's accusations and divorce suit, Ne-Yo has yet to speak up. A few days ago, Ne-Yo just requested that the public and the media give his family privacy. He admitted that he was trying to resolve his domestic conflicts.
"For the sake of our children and my family, I will try to defend my family. Personal matters are not meant to be discussed and dissected in public forums," wrote Ne-Yo on his personal Twitter page. "I just ask you to respect my privacy and that of my family at this time."
Meanwhile, Crystal had said she was better off leaving a man who couldn't appreciate her. The mother of three chose to live happily with her three children.
"I'm not a victim. I choose to stand tall with my head held high. If someone can't love you the way you deserve, then it's up to you to love yourself," added Crystal. "Without hatred in my heart, I just wish him the best." (wk/Sisi)
