After last year's debut in the MCU universe, now actor Kumail Nanjiani has successfully debuted in the Star Wars universe. According to him, all this is based on feelings of envy that he had as a child.
In the second episode of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, actor Kumail Nanjiani appears as an important secondary character named Haja Estree. Initially claiming to be a Jedi, apparently Haja is just a con artist who likes to blackmail his victims.
Although the character is not described as a very good person, Kumail still feels proud to be present in the Star Wars universe. The reason is, when he was little he was often jealous of his cousin who had a large collection of Star Wars toys.
“When I was little, my cousin had a larger collection of Star Wars toys. I'm so jealous," he tweeted on Sunday (29/5/2022).
"But now it looks like I won." he said.
Being a part of the Star Wars universe is certainly a huge accomplishment for any actor. Founded in 1977, Star Wars is one of the largest science fiction franchises in the world.
Kumail Nanjiani is an actor and comedian born in Karachi, Pakistan. Having been active in the entertainment industry since the late 2000s, Kumail is famous for films and television series such as Hot Tub Time Machine 2, Adventure Time, Silicon Valley, and more.
Last year, Kumail made his debut in the Marvel cinema universe through the film Eternals where he played Kingo. His presence in the Star Wars universe is also the second time Kumail has joined a major franchise in the United States entertainment industry.
However, it is not yet known whether Kumail's role as Haja will last long in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series. As a secondary character who is bound by a place setting, will Haja Estree have a bigger role to play at the end of this series? /celebrities.id
